Welcome to Lester B. Pearson P.S.
Lester B. Pearson P.S. is a dynamic and vibrant school community that provides many opportunities for our students to positively impact their school experience. Our School Council is an active, diverse and hard-working team of parents that enriches the lives of our students in many ways through their initiatives.
Every year, we begin our school year with our annual Terry Fox Walk/Run, our Welcome Back/Meet The Teacher Barbecue, and before you know it, it is time for the first athletic Cross-Country practices and tournaments. From our participation in days such as ‘Take Me Outside Day’, Days of Pink, ‘Earth Day Clean Up’, Kindness Week, to various fundraising events for those in need, we have many opportunities to engage in impactful activities that highlight our collective responsibilities to be our best selves as a York Region District School Board community. We are committed to Healthy Schools initiatives such as our amazing snack program, our ”Lead On Program,” ‘Pause To Play,’ Well-being initiatives, ‘You’re The Chef’, Go Girls! Program, Girls Inc., Well-being Warriors, and our ‘PLAY’ leaders program that works towards Lester B. Pearson P.S. earning recognition each year as a certified Healthy School from York Region Public Health. Our ECO-Club also works tirelessly throughout the year to earn us the recognition of being an Ontario ECO-certified school. As Pearson Panthers, we are never too busy to have some fun with friends at the Bonhomme Carnaval, Dance-a-thon, Fun Day, our school Musical production, our Arts Night, and our annual Wellness event. Thanks to our incredible support from our School Council and LBP staff, these are just a few of the many events that have shaped our years together as a LBP community.
Sports and clubs are an important part of school experiences, and we are a phenomenal example of dedication to athleticism, collaboration, and leadership. Our students represent Lester B. Pearson P.S. in volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, track & field and other area and regional meets with pride and they exemplify the qualities of perseverance, good sportsmanship and athletic skill under the leadership of our teachers. If sports are not an interest, our students have opportunities to engage in numerous STEM, arts, games and clubs, led by staff and students alike. It is so exciting to see how many students take risks to develop leadership skills through their student-led clubs with the strong support of our office staff, caretakers, School Council, parent volunteers, and teachers across the school.
We take pride in our students’ growth over the years at Lester B. Pearson P.S. LBP is proud of the learning experiences that we provide for our students. We cherish the memories that we create with our students. It is an honour to lead the LBP school community as your Principal and we wish each Lester B. Pearson P.S.
